A structure when your mind is full

How do I write a eulogy?

You do not need to summarize an entire life. Choose a few true things, one or two stories, and what you want people to remember when you sit down.

A simple structure

Who they were → what they gave → one or two stories → what you will carry forward. A clear five-minute eulogy can be more moving than a complete biography.

Write fragments, not polished paragraphs. The tool turns them into a speaking outline.

Your outline

How long should a eulogy be?

Ask the person coordinating the service how much time you have. If nobody has set a limit, a concise eulogy is usually easier to deliver well. Practice aloud and remove anything that only makes sense because you know the backstory.

What if I am afraid I will cry?

Print the words in large type, mark places where you can pause, and give a copy to someone who could continue if you cannot. Becoming emotional does not mean you have failed to speak well.

Avoid surprise disclosures. A funeral is usually not the place to reveal private information, settle family disputes or tell a story that would embarrass the person or their closest family.
