New-Baby Night Support Planner
Night support is less about creating a perfect shift system and more about protecting the safest realistic stretches of rest around feeding and caregiving needs.

List what only one person can do
Some tasks may depend on feeding or recovery. Everything else, diaper changes, resettling, washing supplies, bringing water, preparing a safe sleep space, can be discussed and shared where appropriate.
Protect daytime recovery too
If nights cannot be split evenly, the compensating support may happen in the morning or afternoon through meals, household work, older-child care or a protected rest period.
Safety beats the schedule
If a caregiver is too exhausted to stay awake safely while feeding or holding a baby, put the baby in a safe sleep space and get help. Follow current clinician and safe-sleep guidance for your baby.
